I don't just shoot at Filoli — I spend time there. My daughters and I visit at least once a month, wandering the gardens, playing in the flowers, pretending we're fairies. It's one of our favorite places in the Bay Area and it has been long before I ever brought a camera there professionally.
That familiarity changes everything. I know where the light falls in the late afternoon. I know which gardens feel most magical for families with young kids. I know the corners that feel tucked away and intimate, and the wide open spaces that make you feel like you're somewhere far away from ordinary life. When I bring a family to Filoli, I'm not navigating a new location — I'm sharing a place I genuinely love.

Filoli is one of those places that stops you in your tracks every single time. Always stunning, always changing — every visit reveals something new. We are so lucky to have it in the Bay Area, and honestly? I wish I had taken my own maternity photos there.
I photograph maternity sessions at Filoli using natural light and a relaxed, unhurried approach. If you're expecting and dreaming of something lush, romantic, and truly special, Filoli is hard to beat.
Maternity sessions are best scheduled between 28 and 34 weeks, and I recommend booking early so there is time to plan— Filoli can be quite busy, especially in spring and fall when the gardens are at their most spectacular.

Filoli is one of the most naturally beautiful settings in the Bay Area for a family session — and it photographs exactly as magical as it looks in person. The formal gardens, the towering trees, the paths lined with blooms — it creates a backdrop that feels timeless without feeling stiff.
My approach is play-based and guided by how your family naturally moves and interacts — which means your children get to actually experience Filoli rather than just stand in front of it. They can run the paths, explore the gardens, and just be children in one of the most beautiful places in the Bay Area. I guide you into moments that feel natural and true to who you are. The photos take care of themselves.
